Avanta plans expansion in Pune, Bangalore
The London-based furnished office space provider Avanta, which unveiled its facilities in Mumbai recently, is looking to expand to Pune and Bangalore.
Avanta has two office spaces in Mumbai spanning 70,000 sq ft and a 20,000 sq ft one in Delhi. Furnished offices are fully serviced offices ranging from small offices to entire floors with monthly packages that include telephone and internet connectivity, besides a team of coordinators in waiting to ensure that client focus is on running his business and not the office.
Mr Sean Morgan, Managing Director- Middle East and India, said unlike in Germany and Japan, where traditional spaces were still preferred, the concept of serviced office space was set to pick up in India.
Mumbai plans
In Mumbai, Avanta is looking to locate office space in Lower Parel, Andheri, Powai and Nariman Point. “We are ideally looking for 70 per cent carpet area within the super-built. Preference is for green buildings, given their utilisation of natural light and energy savings,” he said, adding that about 1.5 million pounds was needed to set shop on 20,000-25,000 sq ft.
Workstations
The charges for a workstation could range between Rs 30,000 and Rs 75,000, depending on the facilities sought for, though concessions were given based on lease duration. “Our business model is similar to hotels and airlines, where offers keep varying,” he said.
A corporate house had just booked 100 workstations for two years at Avanta’s BKC facility, which has 560 workstations. The BKC facility spans two floors totalling 50,000 sq ft.
Avanta’s London base, where it has furnished offices in 18 locations, does help its Indian operations. “Seventy-five per cent of brokers work out of our offices there and they help serve as a continuous channel to clients,” he said.
